Two Americans have been convicted with affray after a man was pushed to the floor in a fight at a nightclub in Mayfair.
Singer Chris Brown, 37 and Omololu Akinlolu, 40 both pleaded guilty to being involved in the brawl at Tape in Hanover Square, in a trial at Southwark Crown Court.
CCTV footage showed Brown,, from California, hitting the man in the head with a glass bottle several times at around 3am on February 15, 2023.
Akinlolu, from Florida, then assaulted the man, punching him in back of the head. Both men then chased the victim around the venue, pushing him to the floor and kicking him.
Both attackers were known to the victim, who was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to his head and knee.
An investigation identified Brown and Akinlolu as the assailants. Both men refused repeated requests to be interviewed voluntarily under caution by officers.
Brown was arrested in Manchester in the early hours of May 15, 2025, after police got wind he had flown into the UK on the previous day. Officers also detained Akinlolu in Manchester on the same day.
One of London’s most exclusive clubs, access to Tape is typically restricted to members and invited guests, with table reservations starting at a minimum spend of £1,000 for groups of up to ten.
It has hosted many household-name celebrities including Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Paloma Faith and Usain Bolt.

‘This has been a long investigation and we’ve worked with police colleagues in the UK to bring these two men to justice.’
