Passengers were evacuated off a double decker bus which caught fire this afternoon while travelling down Baker Street.
The bus, operated by Go Ahead London on the 74 route towards Putney caught fire near Portman Square where all passengers were evacuated safely, with just one treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.
London Fire Brigade say they received 17 emergency calls around 4.30pm on Tuesday, with Soho crews attending the fire.
It comes as the Met Police reported four other bus fires in East London since the start of the new year, all of which they believe to be deliberate act. The incidents are being treated as linked due to similarities in the offences.
The fire brigade believe, unlike previous bus fires, the Marylebone blaze was accidental, although the cause has been recorded as “undetermined” due to the extent of damage in the engine bay.
