Three men responsible for stealing more than 100 luxury items from West End stores have been sentenced to jail.

The gang conducted five robberies at high end stores on Bond Street and Sloane Street over a three-month period last year, grabbing a haul of handbags, clothing and boots worth a total of £385,000.

They targeted a range of luxury boutiques including SL, Bottega Venetta, END, and Lora Piana, taking as much as they could carry before fleeing the scene.

A CCTV clip showed the moment the gang rammed a stolen car into Lora Piana on Sloane Street, smashing the shop window on December 16 last year.

Further footage captured anti-theft smokescreens activating at nearby Bottega Veneta as masked thieves grabbed handbags of the shelves after breaking in on November 17, 2025.

They then used stolen vehicles in an attempt to evade detection, but were tracked by officers driving five miles across London and through DNA samples taken at the shops

One gang member, Max Tyson, had travelled several hundred miles to a store in Cornwall, where receipts showing he had re-sold the stolen property gave away the scheme.

On several occasions the group sold the items at several times lower than their listed price, with £1,800 taken for goods worth more than £30,000.

Tyson and Ryan Bough were both arrested by officers on the day of their last robbery on January 23 this year, while their associate Sonny Stringer was detained the following Monday.

Harry Johnson and Oliver Ndayizeie were both arrested after being linked to the group on February 10.

Tyson, 26 and Bough, 34 were both jailed at Inner London Crown Court for six years and five months on May 29 after admitting to two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary.

Johnson, 25, was jailed for a year and 10 months, after pleading guilty to handling stolen good at the same court on July 27.

Stringer, 29 and Ndayizeie, 36, were both given suspended prison sentences for their part in the criminal operation.

DC Will Wigzell said: ‘These robberies have a lasting impact on businesses, their staff and the wider community, affecting livelihoods as well as causing significant emotional and financial harm through the threats, violence and intimidation involved.

‘This organised crime group carried out a series of brazen smash-and-grab robberies across some of London’s busiest shopping districts. They carefully planned their offences, using stolen vehicles and mopeds in an attempt to evade detection, but thanks to the determination and expertise of Flying Squad detectives, they were identified and brought to justice.

‘These sentences mark a significant milestone in what has been a detailed and determined investigation. I hope they demonstrate our commitment to tackling smash-and-grab robberies in London by pursuing those involved, wherever they are.’
