Victoria station assault

Police have launched an appeal for a suspect after a young woman suffered an ‘unprovoked’ assault at Victoria station.

The victim, who was in her 20s, sustained ‘significant’ facial injuries and is still traumatised following the incident at 2am on November 5 last year.

Officers are looking for a white male suspect, thought to be between 20 and 30 years old, with a large bushy beard.

He is shown on CCTV footage wearing a dark puffer style jacket

PC Jasmine Stow, who is leading the case, said: ‘This was a cowardly and unprovoked assault on a young woman at the end of what had been an enjoyable night out. She is still traumatised by the incident.

‘I would ask the public to take a good look at the image and anyone who recognises this man is asked to get in touch as a matter of urgency.

‘I am also looking to identify a man who attempted to intervene shortly after this incident. This man approached the suspect near to Wilton Road but left the scene prior to police arrival. If this sounds like you please get in touch with police as you may be able to help our investigation.’

Anyone with information should contact Met Police and quote reference CAD 893/05Nov23 or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
